Gary McIlravey, LL.B.(Hons), Dip L.P., N.P. | Partner

Gary is a native of Dundee and attended Dundee University for both degree and diploma. He trained with another local firm before moving to Lawson Coull & Duncan in 1993. He deals with all aspects of criminal law. He has a special interest in Mental Health Law, and is one of the few solicitors in Scotland with expertise in that area, receiving referrals from the Health Board, Advocacy Workers, Sheriffs and Mental Health Officers. Gary is a Legal Convenor with the Mental Health Tribunal for Scotland and sits as a Judge of the First Tier Tribunal in the Scottish Charities Appeal Panel, Parking and Bus Lane Appeals and the Social Security Chamber. He is also a legal member of the Scottish Housing Regulator. He regularly prepares both welfare and financial reports for the courts in Guardianship cases.

In his spare time, Gary enjoys motorcycling and his many attempts at DIY have been politely described as “enthusiastic”.
